Oscar and Felix: A New Look at The Odd Couple

Brace yourself for uproarious laughter as Totem Pole Playhouse presents Oscar and Felix: A New Look at The Odd Couple—a fresh and spirited take on Neil Simon’s classic comedy.

When carefree sportswriter Oscar Madison opens his home to his newly single and obsessively tidy friend Felix Ungar, their wildly different personalities collide in spectacular fashion. What follows is a whirlwind of razor-sharp dialogue, comic chaos, and laugh-out-loud moments as the world’s messiest roommate and the world’s most fastidious houseguest try to survive living under the same roof.

This special production stars Ray Ficca and Darren Server as the iconic duo, bringing their irresistible chemistry to one of the most beloved comedy pairings ever written. Directed by acclaimed actor and director John Putch, this lively staging brings new energy and perspective to Simon’s timeless exploration of friendship, frustration, and the hilarious challenges of sharing a home.

Packed with unforgettable characters, brilliant one-liners, and the kind of comedy that keeps audiences laughing from beginning to end, Oscar and Felix proves why The Odd Couple remains one of the most celebrated comedies ever written.

Who We Are

Mike and Sarah

From the Owners

We have always had an interest in living on a farm and raising “something.” Both born in Chambersburg, PA, we moved away briefly to pursue our educations (Mike is a Cardiologist and Sarah is a Nurse Practitioner), we were drawn back to the area for what has turned out to be our dream.

After searching for many years and having more than a few let downs, we found a farm for sale at a public auction in 2002. In just a few short months, we had purchased the 130-acre farm in Mercersburg, PA and moved into the farmhouse that had been uninhabited for 40 years.

Naming the farm was easy. Our farm is over a mile long, and if you remember back to the 1960s to a show called Green Acres … well, we joke that phoning from atop the electric pole might work better than our cell phones!

By 2004, we were ready to raise that “something.” We considered the usual suspects … cows, goats, and sheep to name a few, but then we stumbled upon alpacas one evening while out shopping for Christmas. Six months later, we purchased our first alpacas, several bred females and one male cria who would later become our “ambassador alpaca.”

We hope you’ll take some time to learn more about our story and, even better, come visit Long Acres Alpaca Farm!

Tandem Skydiving with Maytown Sport Parachute Club
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Details

Experience the beautiful scenery of central Pennsylvania from 10k feet & 120+ miles per hour. With unbelievable views of Lancaster and York county, stretching all the way down to the Chesapeake Bay, tandem skydives at MSPC are absolutely unforgettable.

How it works:

After a brief class, a USPA certified tandem instructor will gear you up, and escort you to our jump plane. After a short plane ride, you will take the leap over Lancaster County. With nearly 50 seconds of freefall, and a 5 minute parachute ride, you will land safely right in front of your friends and family. A tandem jump is a great way to experience the thrill of skydiving while under close supervision of an experienced Instructor.

Only 2 spots left!

**Must be able to elevate your feet from a seated position for 30 seconds**

**Must be able to be on your knees for several minutes**

https://www.skydivemspc.com/

CONSIDERATIONS WHEN DECIDING WHERE TO SKYDIVE

There is more than pricing to consider when choosing where to skydive. Maytown Sport Parachute Club has been proudly, and safely skydiving for over 50 years in Central Pennsylvania. MSPC is a club and not a commercial dropzone, which means they care more about creating amazing experiences than making a profit. Their tandem passengers get much more personalized training than most skydiving facilities. Our instructors will take the time to get to know you prior to the jump, and they will work with you from the moment you arrive, until you’re on the way home.

Safety is their #1 concern, so they align themselves with USPA by being a group member dropzone. The USPA (United States Parachute Association) is the regulatory body for the sport. The USPA sets stringent safety requirements for all of its member dropzones, but it isn’t mandatory for skydiving centers to be part of the USPA. This is important, because non-USPA skydive centers can set their own rules, and they don’t think that’s a great idea.

Not sure what to make about all of this? They are open every weekend (weather permitting) from 10am-sunset, so feel free to stop out and see them in action. They’d be happy to show you around, and answer any questions you may have.

REQUIREMENTS:

18 years of age (Please bring photo ID, we verify all jumper’s age)

Be in good health

Weigh less than 225 pounds (All tandem passengers will be weighed prior to the jump)

GUIDELINES:

Please arrive on time.

After your training, your jump time depends on many factors including weather, aircraft, instructors etc, we’ll do our best to make the experience as efficient as possible

Dress for the weather

Wear appropriate footwear, please no sandals, or flip flops – they would likely blow away

Sometimes weather can cause delays, you may want to bring food and drinks with you

No alcohol is allowed during skydiving operations

We love animals, but unfortunately no pets are allowed

Children must be supervised

Pass this information along to anyone coming to watch you skydive

***For safety reasons, we do not allow GoPro cameras or other small cameras to be worn on tandem jumps***
